Unknown to me at the time, I would ultimatley spend the next three years down there. For those of you who don't know where Costa Rica is located, it's between Nicaragua and Panama. After three months of attending spanish classes in San Jose, which is the capital of Costa Rica, I was offered a job to work in a surf shop on the beach. Although I was supposed to return to Texas to finish school after those three months, I returned only to leave two weeks later to begin my journey back to Costa Rica by land. With two cars, two boats, and after twelve days of driving, my boss and I arrived in Tamarindo. Tamarindo is located on the Pacific coast, roughly two hours from the Nicaraguan border. The drive through Central America is an experience I will never forget! To make a long story short, I worked for the surf shop for three months. Then I managed to start my own laundry business which to this day is servicing the cummunity of Tamarindo. Although I am currently trying to sell my assets in Costa Rica, there is a good possibility I will return after giving the rat race a go.
I chose to discuss Woodstock 94 because if I would have been in the United States at the time, I would have gone to enjoy the fiesta. For years I have heard about the first Woodstock in 1969. And from what I have read so far, the reproduction of this event was a major success, in some respects. Maybe I'll be around in twenty-five years to experience the next Woodstock in the year 2119. Vamos a ver!
